Strengthen your approach to eating disorder treatment with 'First Steps in CBT-E: A practical guide for clinicians', designed for Canadian psychologists. This foundational webinar provides essential, practical guidance on the early phase of CBT-E, focusing on targeted assessment, developing a collaborative alliance, and utilising motivational interviewing techniques to empower Canadian clinicians and their clients from the start of therapy.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) is a leading evidence-based approach developed specifically for the treatment of eating disorders. In this foundational webinar - the first in a comprehensive training series - Lauren Aron, provides clinicians with an accessible and practical introduction to CBT-E.

Designed for both new and experienced practitioners, this module focuses on the early phase of treatment. Participants will learn how to conduct a targeted assessment, establish a collaborative therapeutic alliance, and use motivational techniques tailored to eating disorder clients. Drawing from established protocols and rich clinical experience, Lauren illustrates the process through real-world examples, including a detailed case study of ‘Rebecca.’

This training includes step-by-step guidance on early psychoeducation, case formulation, and structured eating practices. It also introduces motivational interviewing techniques as critical tools for engaging clients and building readiness for change. This module serves as the foundation for future sessions in the CBT-E training series, which will cover core interventions, body image work, and relapse prevention.
