Canada · CEU points & talks · Psychologists

Canadian psychologists, enhance your coaching practice with Psychological Capital (PsyCap). This talk introduces the HERO model (Hope, Efficacy, Resilience, Optimism) to cultivate growth and resilience. Learn practical applications to strengthen client motivation, goal pursuit, and overall wellbeing in helping conversations.

This talk introduces Psychological Capital (PsyCap) as a practical, evidence-informed framework for supporting growth, resilience, and performance in coaching and other helping conversations. Drawing on the HERO model — Hope, Efficacy, Resilience, and Optimism — participants will explore how these four psychological resources influence the way people respond to challenge, pursue goals, and sustain motivation.

Through practical examples and reflective activities, the talk demonstrates how coaches and other helping professionals can identify opportunities to strengthen each element of the HERO model within everyday conversations. Participants will leave with practical approaches they can immediately apply to help individuals build psychological resources that support sustainable change and wellbeing.
